And for someone like Shruti Haasan, hopes are sky high. The 21-year-old daughter of superstar Kamal Haasan and actor Sarika is obviously proud, even grateful, for her genes. “It would never be enough to say how much I have learnt from my parents,” says the multi-talented Shruti who is a singer, song-writer and plans to act too.
However, having just finished a course from the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, she currently wishes to dwell on her dearest passion, music. “I’m thrilled that I can write my own music! I realised that this was the most effective way to communicate a part of myself to the world when I was much younger,” she says.
